ARISE: Serving behind the lens at PHIAA AGA 2025

May 1–3, 2025 · Newtown Convention Center, Baguio City

Some contributions to a gathering happen behind the camera. At the Philippine Haggai Institute Alumni Association’s Annual General Assembly in Baguio City, Sir Next was invited to serve as a photo and video documentation volunteer—using his media experience to help preserve a shared story of faith and fellowship.

ARISE: A call to shine

Held on May 1–3, 2025 at Newtown Convention Center in Baguio City, the assembly was hosted by PHIAA Cordillera Chapter. Its theme, “ARISE,” drew on Isaiah 60:1: “Arise, shine, for your light has come!”

According to Sir Next’s event account, the gathering brought together 13 chapters and more than 182 delegates and volunteers. The assembly offered an opportunity for alumni to reconnect, be equipped, and renew their shared commitment to helping end gospel poverty.

Learning, fellowship, and a shared direction

Messages and testimonies, meaningful connections, and practical tools for Kingdom building formed the core of the gathering described in the event account. These elements served a common purpose: encouraging leaders to carry their learning into the communities and institutions where they already have relationships.

An alumni assembly also gives local chapters a chance to see themselves as part of a national community. Encouragement can travel across regions; experience in one setting can prompt useful questions in another. Such connections support the ongoing work beyond the assembly itself.

Sir Next’s role: Photo and video documentation

Sir Next’s contribution was a volunteer assignment in documentation. Through photography and video, he helped record the gathering and the people involved. It was a concrete way to offer professional experience in support of a Christian leadership community.

Documentation gives an event a continuing life: participants can revisit shared moments, chapters can remember their involvement, and others can understand the people behind the mission. The group photograph is part of that record—a community brought together in Baguio, each returning to a different place of service.

From gathering to daily service

ARISE connects naturally with a question for Christian leaders: where can the skills already in our hands become useful to others? For Sir Next at AGA 2025, the answer included a camera, an eye for a meaningful moment, and a willingness to serve behind the scenes.
