That is the invitation behind the LUMINA Water & Sky Lantern Festival — Christmas Edition, taking place on Saturday, December 19, 2026, at Subic Bay Boardwalk. Organized by Vibe Events Management Corporation, the festival pairs glowing water lanterns with tethered LED sky lanterns, live performances, a festival village and a grand fireworks finale.

From 11,063 lanterns to a new Christmas chapter

On May 10, 2026, Vibe Events Management Corporation achieved the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the Largest Display of Water Lanterns: 11,063 lanterns at Lakeshore Pampanga. The achievement is documented in the official Guinness World Records listing.

The December celebration brings that experience to Subic Bay and adds a tethered LED sky-lantern display. It is a Christmas edition by the record-holding organizer; a new record attempt has not been announced in the supplied media guide.

A wish on the water. A light in the sky.

Guests are invited to write hopes, prayers, memories and Christmas wishes on their lanterns. Water lanterns then become part of a shared field of light, while tethered LED sky lanterns add an overhead display. The lantern kit you receive depends on your chosen ticket category.

Vibe Events describes LUMINA as “The Philippines’ First-ever Eco-Friendly Water & Sky Lantern Festival.” According to the organizer, its water lanterns use biodegradable materials and flameless LED lighting; sky lanterns are tethered and LED-lit, with no open fire and no uncontrolled release.

A retrieval team is assigned to collect water lanterns after the ceremony. Guests are encouraged to reduce waste, avoid littering and follow Clean-As-You-Go (CLAYGO). Ang magandang alaala, mas makabuluhan kapag may malasakit din sa lugar na ating pinuntahan.

Gates open at 3:00 PM. Arrive with time to explore the village, enjoy the shoreline and settle in before the evening lantern activities. The announced program includes a magical kids’ show, guest artist performances, live saxophone music, interactive games, art and retail booths, photo areas, food vendors, and cocktail and beer booths for adult guests.

The announced hosts are DJ Raqi Terra of Love Radio and DJ Benjamon of GV 99.1. The evening builds toward the water-lantern ceremony, tethered LED sky-lantern display and fireworks finale. Follow the official website for the latest performers, program and policies.
