CPM Reunion 2026: More Than a Homecoming, a New Chapter for Philippine Marketing Leadership
A reunion of Certified Professional Marketers became an occasion to renew connections, welcome MIP’s new Board of Trustees, and reflect on the responsibility of leading a changing profession.

PASAY CITY, Philippines — Some reunions are about looking back. Held on July 29, 2026, at Hilton Manila Hotel in Newport World Resorts, CPM Reunion 2026 also looked ahead: to the next chapter of professional marketing leadership in the Philippines.
Graduates of CPM Philippines, CPM Asia, and other professional certification programs gathered across generations, industries, and career paths. Alongside the conversations and familiar faces came a significant milestone: the induction of the new Board of Trustees of the Marketing Institute of the Philippines (MIP).
Hosted by Ms. Edelfa “Maie” Demano, CPM Asia, the evening brought recognition, fellowship, and professional development into one celebration of community.
When professional connections become a community
Registration flowed into networking as graduates renewed old connections and met fellow professionals from corporate leadership, entrepreneurship, consulting, academe, and other sectors.
That setting reflected a lasting value of certification: the achievement belongs to the individual, but the relationships built around it can continue throughout a career. Reunions create space for those relationships to grow beyond the review classroom and assessment process.
MIP Chairman Eric Caeg welcomed the community with an introduction to the Institute and its continuing role in advancing the marketing profession.
A new board, a continuing responsibility
Dr. Donald Patrick Lim, MIP Chairman Emeritus, formally inducted the new MIP Board of Trustees. The moment marked a leadership transition and a renewed responsibility to keep the Institute relevant to the people it serves.
Marketing practice continues to change alongside artificial intelligence, data, digital platforms, consumer behavior, and new business models. Professional organizations have a role in helping practitioners develop the knowledge, standards, and relationships they need to respond thoughtfully.
Dr. Lim subsequently shared a message with the community. Executive Dean RJ Sustiguer and Associate Dean Dr. Jenn Ramos also presented MIP’s professional certification programs, including CPM Philippines, CPM Asia, CPEM, and CMA.
The CPM identity renewed
The CPM pinning ceremony and CPM Oath gave the evening a shared point of reflection. For longtime graduates, they recalled an achievement earned earlier in their careers. For newer members, they affirmed their place in a wider professional community.
A credential becomes more meaningful through what follows: applying knowledge, continuing to learn, mentoring others, and contributing to stronger marketing practice. Competence and credibility require attention long after the certificate is awarded.
An alumni success story and closing message from Past President Kathy Mercado brought a regional perspective to the CPM journey and reinforced the value of staying connected beyond certification.
Conversations beyond the formal program
Dinner opened into fellowship, business-card exchanges, photographs, membership inquiries, and interactive activities. It gave professionals who might rarely meet in their day-to-day work an opportunity to exchange ideas.
The gathering was supported by venue partner Newport World Resorts and Hilton Manila Hotel, with participation from Eleatist Kitchen by Francis Fabie and FNG – Federal Land & Nomura Real Estate. Sponsor presentations from Newport World Resorts and FNG were also part of the program.
The people gave those moments their significance. Careers evolve and leadership changes hands; gatherings like this help carry professional relationships and institutional knowledge into the next chapter.
Behind the event: Sir Next’s communications contribution
Sir Next’s involvement took shape through the work that introduced the reunion and preserved its story afterward. His contribution covered the event article, campaign creatives, and communications from the lead-up to the post-event stage.
For a professional community, that work helps connect an event’s purpose with its audience. Before the gathering, communications explain why it matters. Afterward, the article and visual materials keep its highlights accessible to alumni, partners, and professionals who could not be there.
This NextEVENTS feature forms part of Sir Next’s MIP communications portfolio, documenting how writing and creative work can support an organization’s shared identity and continuing engagement.
